We know that everyone’s Christmas celebration will be a little different this year. So we’re making sure different means meaningful and beautiful.

Because the church building remains closed during this phase of the pandemic, the Hennepin community will gather virtually to celebrate the hope and joy of Christmas.

Our worship leaders, joining you from their homes, will share prayers, poems, scripture and messages for the whole family. We’ll have all your favorite hymns and carols, candlelight and community as we celebrate the birth of Christ. You’ll experience the comfort of the familiar, plus the joy of the new.

On Christmas Eve, we will be broadcasting this very special worship service at 4pm, 7pm, and 10pm.

Tune in on our website, Facebook page or YouTube channel. Once the service has broadcast the first time, you can watch it at any point on YouTube.

No matter where you are this Christmas, Hennepin is here for you!

Sundays in ADVENT
“Longing for Light”

Nov. 29,  Dec. 6, Dec. 13, Dec. 20
8:30 & 10am
Richard Rohr teaches us,
Advent is not about a sentimental waiting for the Baby Jesus… Advent is a time to focus our expectation and anticipation on the adult Christ, the Cosmic Christ, who challenges us to empty ourselves, to lose ourselves, to surrender.”
In these winter days of extended darkness, we long for union with God and each other. This Advent, spend time in the hope-filled darkness of contemplation, prayer, and holy longing as we look forward together to the Light of Christmas.
Worship with us online at 8:30 & 10am at: haumc.org/live or on our Facebook page.

Virtual Angel Tree
is Here!
Nov. 16 – Dec. 7

Every year Hennepin partners with Refugee Services at the Minnesota Council of Churches to provide Christmas gifts for children who have resettled in the Twin Cities over the past year. Every year, these families are blessed by the generosity of the Hennepin community. It has been a tough year for so many, and especially for those who are new to our country.
To minimize health risks for all, we’re going virtual with the Angel Tree gift assignments this year.
To sign up to shop for one of these children, or for a whole family, visit:
Please deliver unwrapped gifts to the East Entry of Hennepin by Monday, December 7 at 2pm. Drop-off hours: M–F 8am–2pm
Refugee Services recommends shopping for something warm (hats, scarves, gloves, warm socks), something fun (toys, games, soccer balls, cell phone chargers, earbuds, etc), and something for learning (games, books, puzzles, etc.).
Thank you for being a blessing!

Sunday, November 29, 3:30pm

Start your journey to Christmas with a drive-thru Advent Celebration! You can see the Christmas decorations, enjoy a donut-to-go, and even drop off your commitment card!
All ages can enjoy this safe, socially-distanced opportunity to experience the light of Advent as it spreads from the spire into our community.
Psst… you won’t want to miss the very special lighting of the church steeple. All are welcome!
