Hennepin Avenue United Methodist Church has two worship services
Both are distinct in location, music, and atmosphere. Feed your soul, fuel up for the week, and be equipped as a disciple to serve Christ in the world. Sermons are available to stream/download through Hennepin Podcast Ministries, and you can live stream both worship services online. There is also a small gathering on Sunday mornings where communion is celebrated weekly.
10:00 am, sanctuary
This 60-minute service features scripture and thematically-inspired liturgy, hymns (both traditional and contemporary), pastoral prayer, and anthems from a variety of choirs, music ensembles, and special guests. The sanctuary’s striking beauty offers a classic setting for dynamic worship. Communion is celebrated on the 1st Sunday of the month.
Senior Pastor Judy Zabel, along with occasional guest preachers, craft and deliver sermons that inspire, challenge, and equip worshippers to go out into the world and share the love of Christ.
8:30 am, art gallery
This 70-minute worship service features poetry, scripture and other readings, a story or sermon from a lay or clergy person, prayers of the people, and a wide variety of music.
With the worshipping body seated in a circle, the Art Gallery provides a peaceful, Christ-centered setting. Communion is celebrated on the 3rd Sunday of the month.
Rev. Frenchye Magee and a dedicated group of worship leaders offer insight into the Word and life.
