A Message from Pastor Laura Hannah
Confirmation Mentors
Are you looking for a meaningful way to share your faith and make a lasting impact on the life of a young person in our congregation? Hennepin Avenue United Methodist Church is seeking committed adults to become confirmation mentors for the upcoming school year.
What is a Confirmation Mentor?
A confirmation mentor is someone who walks alongside a young person in their faith journey, offering guidance, support, and a listening ear. This is an incredible opportunity to help nurture the faith of our youth while also enriching your own spiritual life.
Commitment:
- Monthly Meetings: Meet with your mentee monthly after the worship service.
- Gatherings: Attend one or two special gatherings during the year.
Requirements:
- Background Check: All mentors must be willing to undergo a background check to ensure the safety and well-being of our youth.
- Faith Commitment: We are looking for adults who are committed to their own faith and enthusiastic about nurturing the faith of a young person.
- Intergenerational Relationships: Build meaningful, faith-based relationships that bridge generations and strengthen our church community.
If you are interested in learning more, please reach out to Pastor Laura ([email protected]) for more details or to sign up. Your involvement can make a profound difference in the life of a young person and in our church community as a whole.
Together, let’s inspire and nurture the next generation of faith leaders!
Confirmation Information Session
We are excited to invite all potential confirmation students (8-12 grade as of this fall) and their parents to an informative and inspiring session on September 15th, right after worship. During this session, you will learn about the goals and structure of our Confirmation program, get important dates for classes, retreats, and special events, and understand what is expected of students throughout the program. You will also have the opportunity to ask questions and have them answered by Pastor Laura (co-leader of the Confirmation program)
This session is a fantastic opportunity to gain a clear understanding of what the Confirmation journey will entail. It’s also a chance to meet other families, ask questions, and feel inspired about the faith formation opportunities ahead.
We hope to see you there as we embark on this meaningful journey together. Your presence will help us build a strong foundation for your child’s faith and foster a supportive community around them.
