Wherever you are, God Meets you there

This advent season we explore what it really means to be joined on earth by Jesus; Emmanuel, "God with us".
Through the promise of Jesus we are reminded wherever we are, God will meet us there.

Do you need a bit of revitalization? Do you need a bit of soul and physical nourishment this Christmas Day? Come and join us for two separate worship experiences: one in the Art Gallery on Christmas Day at 10 am led by Judy and will include pastries, coffee and hot cocoa. And one online service via Zoom led by Laura for our online community and tailored to that platform. Come as you are! The services will not have a message but instead will have time to connect to each other, the meaning of Christmas, and an invitation to share your own stories of Christmas, if you so desire. It will be a time to gather together!

Advent art exhibition

The Fine Arts Team is celebrating the return of "Nativity with Adoration of the Shepherds and Magi" just in time for Christmas! The mid-16th Century painting and its ornate frame have been away for nearly a year of conservation treatment. Of special interest in this northern Italian high renaissance style painting is the inclusion of two different scenes: the familiar manger scene with shepherds and animals, as well as in the distance the visitation of the Magi bearing gifts to the Christ Child. "Nativity with Adoration of the Shepherds and Magi" can be seen as part of the current exhibit in Carlson Hall, art which helps tell the Advent and Christmas story from the HAUMC collection. Other works featured are works by Watanabe, Pinkham, Bohlig, and several pieces of Roberts' Lithographs of the Holy Land and Egypt.
