Sermons explore the intersection of historical texts and current realities. Our excellent music program launches soul through choral and communal song. Children lead in worship\, we sing varieties of hymns meant to engage hearts and imaginations\, and our cathedral sanctuary bears witness to an enduring desire to praise God in all ways. In the United Methodist Church\, communion is open to all and is shared on the first Sunday of the month. Worship is enriched by a variety of voices\, including our pastors\, Rev. Elizabeth Macaulay and Rev. Christy Key\, along with guest preachers and members of the community.

DESCRIPTION:1st & 3rd Sundays | 11am-12pm | Library \n\n\n\nStop by the library after service on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month for free blood pressure checks or to discuss health concerns and learn about resources. \n\n\n\nSeasonal affective disorder (SAD) affects millions of Americans (NIH). Major depressive disorder (MDD) is also prevalent. Those gathering gain insights by sharing personal experiences and beliefs\, and develop a stronger sense of community through their sharing. Both observers and participants are welcome at 11:30 in the Harrison Room.

SUMMARY:Community Meals
DESCRIPTION:Community Meals is Hennepin Avenue UMC’s hospitality and feeding ministry. For over 30 years\, we’ve been part of a downtown church consortium committed to providing a hot meal on Sunday evenings to low-income and homeless people. Hennepin participates in hosting the Community Meals program on the 1st and 5th Sundays of the month. We share this hospitality with a rotating group of congregations. 10-15 volunteers welcome 50-70 guests to a delicious dinner. While serving meals is the key component\, this is a ministry of welcome as we share God’s love with our neighbors. \n\n\n\nIf you are interested in volunteering\, please sign up here! \n\n\n\nCommunity Meals are on the 1st and 5th Sundays of each month at Hennepin. \n\n\n\nNo training is needed. Kristy Barnes Certified Food Safety Manager and is licensed by the State.
