Silas Soule\, who refused to follow orders and participate in the 1864 Sand Creek Massacre\, Colorado. \n\n\n\nLent Feb 22 – April 5: “Letters from the Heart: Voices of Courage\, Conscience and Consolation\,” starting with Paul (2 Cor. 3:2-3)\, we’ll explore letters (and the lives of the letter-writers) from clergy and lay leaders influential in Christian spirituality–Hadejwich\, Martin Luther\, Sarah Crosby\, Dietrich Bonhoeffer\, Martin Luther King Jr.\, and Bishop Mariann Edgar Budde. \n\n\n\nSpring April 12 – May 17: “Letters to Pope Francis: Rebuilding a Church with Justice and Compassion”\, by Matthew Fox\, as we prepare for his Earth Sunday visit with HAUMC! We’ll explore Fox’s letters for the sake of the Community of Creation. \n\n\n\nClass is led by Nancy Victorin-Vangerud\, participants\, and guests.
