DESCRIPTION:Sundays 11:15-12:30 in the Church of Youth \n\n\n\nConfirmation is a vital ministry where youth are supported throughout their spiritual  \n\n\n\njourney. The program encourages students to connect with God\, the Bible\, the Church\, and caring adults.  Participants may join a confirmation class anytime between their 8th grade year and their senior year of high school.  \n\n\n\nStudent learning will center around classroom time\, hands-on service activities\, field trips\, and yearly summer mission trips. Students are expected to attend regularly\, participate in worship\, complete service hours and meet with mentors. Sermons explore the intersection of historical texts and current realities. Our excellent music program launches soul through choral and communal song. Children lead in worship\, we sing varieties of hymns meant to engage hearts and imaginations\, and our cathedral sanctuary bears witness to an enduring desire to praise God in all ways. In the United Methodist Church\, communion is open to all and is shared on the first Sunday of the month. Worship is enriched by a variety of voices\, including our pastors\, Rev. Elizabeth Macaulay and Pastor Laura Hannah\, along with guest preachers and members of the community.

China and Texas have become huge solar energy leaders – solar power also connects with an empowering and compassionate eco-spirituality\, which we’ll explore through selected biblical texts.  \n\n\n\nBill’s new book\, Here Comes the Sun\, will provide a chapter for us\, too. Please join the group study for 4 weeks (all September)\, and plan to attend the Minneapolis Sun Day festivities on September 21 from 1-4pm at Graco Park\, as we collaborate with MNIPL\, Third Act\, and other local orgs.
