Small groups are open to all to join!

Adult Education at Hennepin Avenue UMC is a rich and varied palette. From Sunday morning classes to weekday and evening opportunities, we try to offer everyone the chance to create a circle of people in which they are known and can belong, where they may encounter the Holy, and nurture their faith.

We are open to your ideas for groups and classes. Contact Rev. Frenchye Magee ( with your ideas and desires for new ways to create community.

Small groups support the development of intentional faith, community, and mature one’s spirituality.

Disciple Bible Study

As we execute and practice our commitment to being an inclusive, non-racist and justice-seeking Church, let’s take inventory on what it is that we have to offer someone who asks us, individually, about the Bible, about Jesus, about Christianity, especially within the context of our expressions and actions around racism, social justice and inclusion.

Welcome to Disciple I, starting October 7! Discussions will take place on Wednesday nights, 6:30–7:45pm, via Zoom. No winter driving; slippers and comfortable chairs are welcome. Registration is open now!

LYFE Groups

LYFE stands for Live Your Faith Everywhere, one of Hennepin Avenue UMC’s core principles of discipleship-in-action.

The LYFE group is a place, a space, and a means of grace, where a wide range of persons connect across their diversity to pray, learn, and grow in relationship with God and one another. LYFE groups meet in homes and local restaurants chosen by the group. New groups are started seasonally, when trained leaders are ready to launch.

If you would like to join a LYFE group, or be a LYFE group leader, please contact Pastor Frenchye ( for more information.
