What Ought We To Do?
In class this past week, we turned to themes of ecological penitence, forgiveness, and hope. In conversation with eco-theologian Norman Wirzba, and informed by the wisdom of terrapsychology, we asked:
1) What sins against the land might Hennepin Avenue United Methodist Church need to confess?
2) How would we go about attuning to the “spirit of the land” in seeking forgiveness?
3) What practices and skills will we need to nurture to communicate ecological hospitality – to birds, pollinators, soil microorganisms, human neighbors?
