This week our journey back in time is a short one — just eleven years to August 2014.
On August 10, 2014, the church said goodbye to Rev. Teri Johnson, our 24th lead pastor and our first woman pastor. Her farewell sermon, entitled “Water Walkers,” begins with a fun limerick. Listen to it here:


On August 31, 2014, just three weeks after Pastor Teri’s farewell, the church welcomed Rev. Kent Millard and his wife Cheri. Kent would serve as Hennepin’s interim lead pastor for the ten months between Teri Johnson’s farewell and the arrival of Rev. Judy Zabel as our next lead pastor. In Kent’s first message, entitled “For All That Has Been, Thanks,” he uses his own life story as a reminder to look back and be thankful for everything that God has already done — an appropriate message as the church celebrates its anniversary!
