1891 (July 7)
Sixteen years after its founding, Hennepin Avenue Church hires its first associate pastor, Frederick O. Holman, as an assistant to lead pastor Otis Tiffany. It turns out to have been a wise decision, as Holman was ready to step into the pastoral role when Tiffany died just three-and-a-half months later. (Minneapolis Journal and Times)

1914 (July 4)
The Fowler Church building at Dupont and Franklin has a sanctuary big enough to accommodate the combined Fowler and Hennepin congregations. And for the months of July and August, the congregation of nearby Lowry Hill Congregational Church will join them as well. (Minneapolis Tribune)

1932
Hennepin Church has recruited Rev. Harold W. Roupp (his name is misspelled in the article) to serve as Hennepin’s “summer pastor.” He will be so popular that he will return for two more summers, and when Rev. Raines ends his 18 years as pastor in 1948, Ruopp will be recruited to serve as lead pastor of Hennepin Church (1948-1951)

1976 (July 4)
The U. S. celebrates its 200th birthday, while at Hennepin, Dr. Jerald Jackson leads special services featuring American hymns.
