Senate District 61 Civic Leaders & Community Gathered
On Sunday, May 4, Hennepin Avenue United Methodist Church was honored to host a Town Hall for residents of Minnesota Senate District 61. Community members gathered in our sanctuary to hear from and engage with Majority Leader Rep. Jamie Long, Sen. Scott Dibble, and Rep. Katie Jones–each of whom represents parts of this vibrant Minneapolis district.
The event was a celebration of open dialogue, shared values, and civic participation. As elected officials discussed pressing issues, neighbors listened thoughtfully and asked insightful questions. Rep. Katie Jones made a memorable entrance, arriving in a suit, heels, and on her bicycle. Living out her commitment to sustainability and community-centered leadership.
We are grateful to be able to offer our sacred space as a hub for public conversation and civic engagement. Hosting this Town Hall reflects our continued mission to serve as a Cathedral for All Creation–where reverence, resistance, and repair come together in community.
