Get ready for an afternoon of festive fun and community connection at Hennepin Avenue UMC’s annual Trunk or Treat! This Halloween-inspired free event brings families together for an exciting experience filled with decorated trunks,, and so much more. Kids can enjoy a bounce house, a free Costume Give and Take rack, s’mores and popcorn station, pumpkin decorating and carving contests, a cozy hot beverage station, and a harvest-style Polaroid photo booth. Plus, with awesome community partners like you, it’s going to be a fantastic afternoon of family-friendly activities. We’d love for you to be part of it!

- Time: 2-4pm, Set up starts at 12:30pm
- Location: Parking lot at Hennepin Avenue UMC, 511 Groveland Avenue, Minneapolis
This year, we have two specific goals:
- 10 community partners to host a trunk or serve in another volunteer role.
- 20 congregant members to host trunks for the kids.
Here’s how you can get involved:
- Host a Trunk: Decorate a trunk and hand out candy to the kids while sharing information about your organization.
- Volunteer: We have a variety of roles, including:
- Dropping off flyers in the neighborhood (1-2 weeks before)
- Drink station attendant
- Pumpkin decorating station
- Pumpkin carving contest organizer
- S’mores station (with a firefighter for safety)
- Photo booth attendant
- Judges for the trunk contest
- Bounce house attendant
- Candy replenishment for trunks
- Set-up or tear-down crew
