Beyond Land Acknowledgement: Repairing Relationships with Indigenous People
April 1 @ 5:00pm – 6:30pm
Ann Carlson will be leading a Lenten discussion class that begins on Wednesday evenings starting on February 25. Join the six-week class to learn how the Christian-crafted Doctrine of Discovery shaped the development of the United States, promoting the theft of indigenous lands, the destruction of Indigenous cultures, and killing of people.
Learn how writing a land acknowledgement can help begin the process of repairing relationships with indigenous people through a process of decolonization. While it’s not required, participants interested in joining are strongly encouraged to attend the first discussion session and continue attending each week throughout the six-week class. The discussions taking place through this series are designed to build on one another, so joining partway through is not recommended.
We are politely asking for your registration for this class! If you are interested in joining, please RSVP by emailing Ann Carlson ([email protected]).
