Community Meals
February 1 @ 4:30pm – 6:30pm
Community Meals is Hennepin Avenue UMC’s hospitality and feeding ministry. For over 30 years, we’ve been part of a downtown church consortium committed to providing a hot meal on Sunday evenings to low-income and homeless people. Hennepin participates in hosting the Community Meals program on the 1st and 5th Sundays of the month. We share this hospitality with a rotating group of congregations. 10-15 volunteers welcome 50-70 guests to a delicious dinner. While serving meals is the key component, this is a ministry of welcome as we share God’s love with our neighbors.
If you are interested in volunteering, please sign up here!
Community Meals are on the 1st and 5th Sundays of each month at Hennepin.
No training is needed. Kristy Barnes Certified Food Safety Manager and is licensed by the State. You can just show up, welcome and serve our guests, and that’s it!
